In addition to the comprehensive range of pre-engineered hoists featured on this web site, Street has many years experience in the design and manufacture of special hoisting solutions.
 
Customised hoists may be part of an overall crane solution provided by Street Crane itself, or increasingly Street is a provider of lifting solutions to the crane industry world-wide with many of the world leading crane makers incorporating Street special hoists into their crane designs. ULTRA LOW HEADROOM TWIN ROTATING HOISTS
This client specified twin hoists with a combined capacity of 16 tonnes on a slewing ring to lift coils of aluminium foil. The extreme shortage of headroom was overcome by the submerged construction with a double railed trolley running on the bottom flange of the crane beams.
 
WIDE GAUGE ROTATING HOISTS
 
This application for the aerospace industry demanded a solution for turning wing sections at 5m centres. The design incorporates a wide gauge crane with a ‘turntable’ trolley and a lifting capacity of 2 x 5 tonnes.
 
CONTROL CABIN SLEWING WITH THE HOIST
In this case the control cabin slews with the hoist to ensure optimum driver visibility on a scrap metal crane working in a series of hoppers.
 
TRIANGULATED REEVING
To obviate load swing on a magnet crane charging a furnace Street designed a special rope reeving with three live ropes and no bottom sheaves.
 
CANTILEVERED HOIST
To enable two different gauge lifting beams to be handled by one crane this special crane with two pairs of hoists was designed such that one pair is cantilevered outside the crane beams.
 
GRABBING HOIST
This twin hoist is designed for use with a mechanical grab. One hoist lifts and lowers the load and the other opens and closes the grab.
 
HEAVY DUTY FAST SPEEDS

High hoisting speeds and duty classification are essential on many process cranes, in such cases variable speed control and electrical braking can be specified.
