Garage Lifts

Garage Lifts are hydraulic systems for hoisting up vehicles such as cars and vans -enabling mechanics to access the undercarriage.

A wide range of Garage Lifts
Types of Garage Lift include:

One Post or Single Post Lift: This allows one vehicle to be hoisted up with access to the driver’s door. Another vehicle can be parked underneath when the platform is raised sufficiently, allowing this lift to also act as a space saver.

Double Post Hydraulic Lift: Both posts work in unison to raise and lower a vehicle. When the platform is raised high enough another vehicle can be parked underneath, saving space. Driver and front passenger doors can be accessed.

Four Post Hydraulic Lifts: There are two types, one for light commercial vehicles with a weight limit and the other for heavy duty usage. The latter is used for large commercial vehicles over a certain weight and is designed like a runway.

Parking Lifts: These are handy lifts to have in a garage because of their space-saving ability. The ability to also maximise profits when several lifts are employed at the same time is obvious. All that is required is a level standing area. The lifts are free-standing and can accommodate most vehicles safely and securely.

Scissor Lifts: These are impressive-looking, but slow moving, lifts consisting of a platform that moves only in a vertical direction. The hydraulic lifting posts take on the appearance of a pair of scissors as they open to raise the platform and close again to lower it.

Motorcycle Lifts: Resembling a large ironing board, these hydraulic lifts are specially designed to accommodate motorbikes. There are also broader based hydraulic lifts used for quad bike maintenance.

Impartial advice on Garage Lifts
Our helpful advisors are always standing by to professionally and impartially advise upon an appropriate lift solution for individual site and customer requirements.

A garage lift is the lift found in most vehicle garages that enables workers to easily and efficiently work on the underside of a vehicle. They succeed the skateboard style rolling boards that mechanics used to lie on in order to access the bottom of a vehicle, and are a considerable improvement. Not only do they increase efficiency and facilitate a potentially difficult and demanding task but they are also extremely useful in ensuring the safety of employees. They are built to strict safety guidelines to ensure they work smoothly and do not cause any harm to the workers in the garage.

There are two types of garage lift to consider – two post or four post lifts. Both perform a similar function, and are very sturdy and capable. Often space can be a large factor when installing an item as large as a garage lift, and a two-post lift can often be the preferable option as it takes up a lot less floor space. A four-post lift may be better suited to a garage that deals with heavier vehicles on a regular basis, as it provides a little more support and may be more appropriate. Both lifts can lift most vehicles high enough to allow storage space beneath them. This is a huge bonus for a smaller garage, and is extremely beneficial in order to increase efficiency.

Garage lifts are typically constructed to fit the general specification of most garages, but it is of course possible to have one customised to perfectly suit the needs of a particular location. Factors such as height and expected load are taken into account, as well as any other optional extra considerations such as methods of controlling the lift and extra safety measures. Safety devices are often installed to ensure the well being of staff and vehicles alike at all times.

Any up and coming garage would benefit hugely from the installation of a garage lift. They offer an invaluable service that could dramatically increase speed and efficiency of tasks, as well as ensuring the safety of staff. The installation of a garage lift needn’t be a disruptive process. It can be relatively fast and pain free; workers aim to be as unobtrusive as possible. The lift is constructed efficiently to ensure there is as little requirement for maintenance in the future as possible. A garage lift can be an extremely useful and profitable asset to a business such as a busy garage.
